Job Description

We are looking for stress and thermal engineers, with a range of experience from Graduates to experienced Professionals to join our expanding Structures Groups to support significant opportunities within the fields of Power Generation and Gas Turbine Technology. We are looking to recruit engineering technologists with, where appropriate, a proven track record in technical excellence, project delivery and industrial experience in their field.
Here, you will undertake challenging technical projects for a range of clients. The role will involve:

  • Concept design evaluation and optimisation
  • Thermal and stress analysis, fatigue and life assessments
  • Assessment of structures to design codes
  • Finite element analysis

For those with demonstrable relevant experience, we are looking for engineers who are looking for the next career step, as you will be responsible for providing the technical leadership and the project and commercial management of a portfolio of design and analysis projects. This will include the technical oversight, supervision and review of the work of other staff working on your projects. These roles are client facing, so it's important the candidates are able to demonstrate a willingness and ability to work directly with client engineers and to have skills and experience to concisely interpret and characterise the client's technical needs.

Your background will be in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering (or a similar engineering related subject eg. Maths/Physics)) and you will be interested in a career within an engineering consultancy. It would be advantageous if you could also demonstrate experience in one or more of the following:

  • Proven track record in a Power Generation or Gas Turbines environment
  • Life assessments of structures, accounting for fatigue, fracture, plasticity, or creep
  • Complex non-linear and transient finite element analysis using Abaqus, Ansys, Dyna, Nastran or similar
  • Experience in defect tolerance assessments and fracture mechanics
