You should be an experienced Automotive Manufacturing Engineering contractor, currently looking for a long term assignment in the new progressive International Midland's Car Industry, recently boosted with new development funding.

This is a long term contract and will possibly be extended as a rolling contract for the right engineer.

Substantial Manufacturing Engineering Experience is required.

RECENT GRADUATES WILL NOT HAVE THE NECCESSARY WORK EXPERIENCE FOR THESE JOBS. Applicants from outside the EU cannot be considered unless immediate proof of current Visa and Work Permits can be supplied with your application.

You will be working on both new and existing projects associated with the moving line construction of engines or assembly of luxury cars, 4x4's, & Hybrid Vehicles.

You may have gained similar experience within Passenger Aircraft, Leisure Marine Craft and Passenger Rail Rolling Stock since they all use similar manufacturing engineering techniques.

Ideally this position would suit an Engineer with experience gained at one of the important transportation manufacturers - Jaguar, Land Rover, MG, Rover, BMW, Rolls Royce, Bentley, Honda, Toyota, Bombardier, Alstrom, BEA Systems, Westland, Airbus or Peugeot or their various component suppliers.

You will be based at one of the longest and most successful international automotive makers in this country.

You should have experience in AT LEAST ONE of the following disciplines:-

Manufacturing Engineering for BIW (Body in White - Body Construction welding & fabrication), Paint, Trim and Final Assembly, Engine Machining, Assembly and Test, Robotics, Automation, "Lean Manufacturing", or Virtual Manufacturing.

Process Engineering (development of work place layouts, line side storage & assembly tooling - writing down process and assembly instructions, tools, equipment and gauging used) in BIW, Paint, Trim Manufacture, Mechanical Assembly, Engine Dress, Trim & Final Assembly, & Test. Computerised Process/Operator Instruction sheet generation very useful - (JLR system for this called GSPAS, or RIMES.).
Facilities & Project Engineering for Equipment, Material Handling, Conveyors used in BIW, Paint, Seat & Trim Manufacture and Trim & Final Assembly (Strip Outs, Layout Development, Commissioning, Installation, Contractor Supervision)

Quality Engineering, Root Cause Analysis and Improvement Engineering.

Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) & Supplier Technical Assistance (STA).

Launch Engineering of new vehicles and processes.

Virtual Manufacturing Models.

Simulation Engineering for the above processes.

Planner, Planning and project timing.

Industrial Engineering, BIW, Paint, Trim Manufacture and Trim & Final Assembly, (M.O.S.T.- Maynard Operational Technique, UAS experience useful.)

Maintenance Engineering.

Although not essential, as training can be provided in house to the right candidate, it would be helpful to have a working knowledge of one of the Ford / Jaguar / Land Rover project delivery processes such GPDS / FPDS / PPAP / FMEA or of change management processes AIMS, WERS, PACN FPDS, GPDS, or a working knowledge of quality tools EFDVS, DFMEA, APQP and DVP, PNR, FMEA, or similar - and so on.
