Our Client who is a major name in the food industry is looking to employ a qualified Electrical Shift Technician to support ongoing requirements within their Midlands factory.

Maintenance Department

Position Description:
- Carrying out planned or preventative maintenance using mechanical and electrical skill set
- A key focus of the role is on development of proactive fault prevention and continuous improvement activity
- Operate in accordance with the site environmental management system
- Coaches' equipment best practice to front line employees. Both on the line and in the classroom
- Support/lead project initiatives in plant
- Provide engineering leadership to the shift when required

1) Level 3 electrical competency standards
2) C&G 2394/C&G 2395/17th Edition
3) Minimum 2 years proven record of electrical maintenance including experience in PLC control equipment and SCADA systems.

Experience Required:
- Electrical qualification and experience - Level 3 electrical competency standard.
- Minimum 2 years proven record of electrical maintenance
- Experienced in PLC control equipment and SCADA systems
- A proven record of diagnosing complex control systems issues
- Experienced in high volume continuous production environment with PLC, pneumatic control and a high mechanical aptitude
- Capable of fault finding and problem solving (advanced) PLC level
- Basic Welding skills preferred but not essential
- Proven record in using structured problem solving techniques such as APS, 5Why or similar.
- Active in Lean culture QCDM, GEMBA as applicable to their current role

- Identifies and addresses own technical competence gaps
- Involved in longer term technical development for the plant
- Proactively develops improvement opportunities and productivity ideas
- Searches for and drives the development of solutions to problems
- Supports the site with engineering expertise, leadership of Front Line Employees and production line knowledge
- Cost orientated - will identify equipment and line performance improvements through working with other functions and external organizations e.g. suppliers, R&D, planning
- Reviews maintenance scheme and implements improvements.
- Reviews product quality information and takes appropriate actions to make improvements

- Has a coaching style, can influence peers and other FLE's performance
- Ability to prioritise multiple tasks using initiative
- Strong communication skills
- Self motivated - results focused to ensure that repairs are carried out in a timely and professional manner and can priorities jobs on the run' - completes planned maintenance
- Strives to achieve KPI targets, for maintenance, line performance and waste reduction
- Strong team player who adopts continuous improvement approach
- Promotes safe working practices
- Sets high personal standards for quality of work and level of service provided
