Systems Design Engineer
Duration: 9 Months
Location: Bristol
Rate: Negotiable

Our client designs a range of state-of-the-art optronics solutions for the some of the most technically advanced defence and security platforms in the world. They are seeking talented Design Engineers, who can apply their knowledge and skills in an innovative system engineering design role. They have built up a team passionate about developing products for a safer world and we're now looking for like-minded, engineers to join them.


* Provide technical leadership for bids and project Engineering Reviews.
* Identify and review technical risks, opportunities and mitigation plans.
* Create the technical specifications with acceptance criteria for subsystems.
* Define the integration, verification, validation, qualification, certification and acceptance methods.
* Work collaboratively with other disciplines to define System and Sub-System Requirements
* Be responsible for collated results and evidence.
* Ensure, with the support of Specialty Engineering experts & Safety/HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) stakeholders:

* That candidate solutions meet regulatory requirements including all applicable standards and legislation. This includes product safety & security and Environmental/HSE requirements and standards,
* That solution designs take into account the contractual requirements,
* That all related certification activities are performed correctly.

Proven Ability / Skills / Knowledge


* Proven track record in one or more of the following:

* Systems Engineering
* Electrical and Electronic Engineering
* Signal Processing
* Mechanical Engineering
* Control/Algorithm/Signal Image Processing Engineering
* Optical Engineering or Related

* Systems engineering of hardware and software systems

* Proven experience in working collaboratively across multiple product development and specialist domain teams
* Proficient in the use of Requirement Management tools (e.g. DOORS).


* Awareness of architectural frameworks such as MoDAF and DoDAF.
* Ability to use tools such as Matlab, Simulink & MathCad.
* Experienced in the use of Capella, Rhapsody, or Enterprise Architect
* Possesses knowledge of the fundamentals of Model Based Systems Engineering and SysML.
