CAD Technician (Mechanical AutoCad 2D biased role)


£22,000 to £26,000 (DOE) + Pension + 20 Days Holiday (Rising to 25) + Bank Holidays + Company Bonus Scheme

40 hours per week – Flexitime is offered

CAD technician required for an AutoCAD 2D biased role in a specialist manufacturer expanding teams to enable further growth through the European markets.

To apply for this 2D biased role, you will ideally have experience with both 2D/3D CAD packages (ideally AutoCAD) and have a good understanding of mechanical engineering principles. You must also hold a valid driving licence and passport for international travel.

You will travel to customer sites across the UK to complete site surveys. You will then be responsible for interpreting client’s structural drawings and using 2D AutoCAD to adapt current products to meet the needs of the client.  You will also assist with creating bill of materials lists.  You will be responsible for producing project guidelines to complement your drawings to assist the installation team on site.

Due to company growth, the objective is to expand into European markets, this role would suit candidates who have aspirations to move into project engineering positions. The company are willing and able to close any skills gaps applicants may have with both internal and external training opportunities.

The Role:

* Adapting current products to meet client specification using 2D AutoCAD

* Travelling to customer locations to survey their site

* Assisting with the production of Bill of Materials

* Producing specific installation guidelines

* 40 hours per week – Flexitime is offered


The Person:


* Must have experience with both ANY 2D & 3D CAD packages & ideally AutoCAD

* Must have a good understanding of mechanical engineering principles

* Must live in a commutable distance to Ledbury

* Must be happy with overnight stay/international travel

* Must have a valid passport and driving license
