The role:

To initiate a new department within this fantastic organisation, working with new products as they are being introduced to an already well established range of hand tools, power tools and hydraulic lifting equipment.

You will work closely with the quality department and purchasers to ensure that new products and new suppliers of existing products are manufacturing the equipment to the required standard, testing safety, design performance and compliance of new products to CE marking directives and working to BS EN standards.

You will be intrinsic to the development of the new department, identifying and implementing new test systems and equipment, and designing the layout of the new test department as it grows.

Ideal Candidate:

Mechanical/Electrical understanding of products and equipment, ideal applicants will have previous equipment of testing products from any of the following: hand tools, power tools, hydraulic lifting equipment, air compressors or other types of consumable products.

Knowledge of product directives, standards and safety legislation.

Ability to conduct tests, compile reports and findings on tests conducted, and keep product test logs and technical files.

Understand test equipment and jigs/fixtures required to perform tests, and source new equipment required if necessary.

Understand design to ensure products have been manufactured to the required standard.

Some management knowledge would be advantageous, or the desire to manage people in the near future.
